What kind of "connections" is limited? I easily forget, but wouldn't this apply only to e.g. web and file/print services (on "reserved" ports)? But perhaps it's a "logical" limit, through licensing or whatever?

Certainly make it as "dedicated" as possible. And keep in mind to not be "cheap" on memory, get nothing less than 256MB RAM! (Even if it is only for single-user/dev purposes, "Intel PC" memory is almost free now)
