Oracle 8.1.6.1 Rel2 Install on Slackware 7.1 -- HELP

Has anyone successfully installed 8.1.6.1 on slackware 7.1? I did 8.1.5 on 7.0, but even
though 8.1.6 comes with the JRE, the Oracle Installer can't find any of the executables or
JRE. I've set up links to the jre/bin only to have the Installer give me an error saying that
a library (which is in the /lib or /usr/lib, etc.) can't be found. Short of linking all the files and
library directories, I think I've done just about anything I could think of.

BTW, this is the downloaded version from the Oracle Technet site.

If you've load 8.1.6 on slackware, please help. Please do not reply if you have only done the
8.1.5 install, been there done that.
