Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Help!! redo log write errors ;(
Hey folks,
I was hoping you could give me some help on this one.
We are running 7.3.4 server on an NT4.0 box and recently had it come up with a PMON error requiring restart of the database.
The sorting through the errors from the PMON trace pointed us to the <sid>LGWR.TRC file in which we found this error
ORA-00345: redo log write error block 26002 count 1 ORA-00312: online log 1 thread 1: 'E:\ORANT\DATABASE\LOG1PDEV.ORA' ORA-09205: sfqio: error reading or writing to disk OSD-04016: Error queuing an asynchronous I/O request. O/S-Error: (OS 33) The process cannot access the file because anotherprocess has locked a portion of the file.
Dump file d:\ORANT\RDBMS73\trace\pdevLGWR.TRC
Fri Jan 05 08:44:46 2001
ORACLE V7.3.4.0.0 - Production vsnsta=0
vsnsql=b vsnxtr=3
Windows NT V4.0, OS V5.101, CPU type 586
Now, I think this means that there was an error trying to write to the 'E:\ORANT\DATABASE\LOG1PDEV.ORA'redo log file, caused because "another process has locked a portion of the file.", however this is not necessarily true because we have had recently (within the last week) a similar problem with this same file where the NT error was OS 203 "The system could not find the environment option that was entered."
How do I resolve what is actually causing this problem and fix it?
Any and all help is appreciated!!
yours
