character set conversion: AL24UTFFSS to UTF8

Hello,

I have a db in AL24UTFFSS for both database charset and national charset data in NVARCHAR fields. I would like to convert these all to UTF8. When I try using "alter database character set UTF8" I get this error:

ORA-12712: new character set must be a superset of old character set

Can anyone tell me how to do this conversion? All user data is currently in plain English, so there shouldn't be any problem with data corruption.

Thanks
