I am running Oracle Enterprise Edition version 8.0.5.1 on Sun Solaris 2.6 and other platforms. Oracle processes (pmon, smon, other user SQL*Net connections) consume about 90 MB on one database and about 135 MB on another database (both on Sun solaris 2.6) according to UNIX 'top' and 'ps -elf'. I have run Sun before and am currently running HP and AIX all with connections taking up two to five megabytes which is usual. Session statistics show UGA and PGA less than one MB each as expected. What gives with the UNIX process size? Any ideas would be appreciated. Received on Fri Dec 29 2000 - 01:50:04 CST
