Example database workload

I am looking for any sort of example workload that folks have developed over the years and can share. The more independent of a particular database
the better, but if it is specific to one, that would be fine.

Trying not to get into the religion of TPC or anything like that. The more
real-world, the better. What we're looking to do is characterize different
database technologies, hardware configurations, and storage configurations
to better understand which ones work well and what the deficiencies of others are.

Examples greatly appreciated! If you have a pointer to where this stuff

might live, that would be great as well.
