It may be fixed in a patch but I'd first try and start the database manually and see what error messages if any oracle returns

eg

set oracle_sid=demo
svrmgrl
svr> startup
svr> ...datafile '..\system01.dbf' needs media recovery.

*usually* if the service doesn't start there is a ghood reason for it not just a generic bug.
