Re: how do we restore in this scenerio?

This message is saying that you are missing archived logfile to recover to choosen point in time. You can choose earlier time, or recover until cancel, which will restore using all accessible archived logfiles. If you don't have any archivelogs now, you don't have any options, only to restore from last cold backup.
