how do we restore in this scenerio?

Ours is Oracle 8.1.5 db in Solaris environment. Our db got corrupted up on 12/13.
We have a back of all the data files and control files from 12/12. Our archivelogs
somehow got deleted even though we are in archivelog mode. We tried to restore point
in time with the backup from 12/12 and got the following error:

recover database until time '2000-12-13:11:05:00' using backup controlfile; ORA-00279: change 859942 generated at 12/12/00 18:23:53 needed for thread 1 Specify log: {<RET>=suggested | filename | AUTO | CANCEL}

ORA-00266: name of archived log file needed ORA-01547: warning: RECOVER succeeded but OPEN RESETLOGS would get error below
ORA-01194: file 1 needs more recovery to be consistent ORA-01110: data file 1: '/U04/oradata/gl/gamelink/system01.dbf'

So my question is how do we restore to the point we have full backup i.e. 12/12 ?(we don't any archivelog of 12/12) .
