Install Oracle8.1.6 on Linux6.2

Hi,

I'm fairly new to the unix/linux environment and am somewhat befuddled...
I'm installing Oracle on Linux with a KDE desktop, and am wondering if there is a fairly simple GUI way of handling the pre-installation tasks i.e.: setting kernel parameters shmmax, shmin etc... semaphores semmni, semmls etc...
as well as everything else, and if so, is there any kind of documentation available to do this...
