Thanks for all of your reply guys.
In fact I was trying to install Oracle 8.1.7 on solaris 8 (Sun OS 5.8) on SPARC platform.
I managed to install the beast but can't create the database, I always get "ORA-03114:not connected to ORACLE" message. Any one know what has went wrong?
