first:
i installed oracle 8.1.7 on a machine with kernel 2.2.14. oracle says it requires 2.2.16. anyone know the problem with using 2.2.14?

second:
when i run dbassist to create a database, oracle cannot find library libnldapj8.so, and fails. i looked in $ORACLE_HOME/lib and it's not there. is it in your install????

third:
why does oracle require jdk1.1.8 from IBM, directed by the installer? i read somewhere it needs this for the Apache service. but then i also read in the pdf files, it need jdk 1.2.2?? what gives?

THANKS!!
