I would echo Jerry's comments and add that we are supporting multiple multi-terabyte databases on DEC Alpha E/G/H series boxes. Sun is a fine choice, we jsut happen to use Alphaservers. I'd recommend you take Jerry's comments to heart and try to clearly understand the kinds and levels of activities the box needs to support.
