You need to crack up the NT monitor and investigate where the bottlenecks are. Once you have a solution for these (most likely I/O bandwidth or memory) and the performance doesn't pick up, then you may have grounds for complaining to the boss and asking for a change.

Basically, get the facts to substantiate your claim. In NT, the monitor will give you plenty.
