Hi,

I have installed Oracle Developer (C:\orant) and Oracle 8i (c:\orant8i) on Windows NT 4.0. Basicly everything works, except of the following: Beeing logged in as NT-administrator and trying to connect to the database (via net8) I always get a tns-12538 Error (TNS:no such protocol adapter). tnsping80 also does not work. However, as a normal user I don't have that problem. In sqlnet.ora I set the trace level to 16 and saw in the tracefile that tnsnames.ora is not found, altough both ORACLE_HOME and TNS_ADMIN are set properly. Any ideas? Thanks for any help!!

Michael
