Notice that I said SHOULD, not WILL. If something is truly awry and it relates to a DLL that was replaced by the installation then, yes, simply de-installing the product will not correct the problem, however de-installing the offending product and re-installing the non-working product SHOULD replace those files that were 'mucked up' and restore functionality to the non-functional application (usually after a reboot once the re-install is complete). If that doesn't accomplish the desired result then far more than software was affected.
