OK, if it's NT, and if it's actually been installed correctly, you'll have a service that supports the Instance. So open up Control Panel, find the Services applet, and run it, then look for something that is named vaguely like 'OracleServicexxxx' or 'OracleStartxxxxx' -the Instance name will be the xxxx bit.

Thanks for the answer but I've tried that name but the result still the
same...
ORA-12154 TNS: l'adresse symbolique n'a pu etre résolue who mean something

symbolic address couldn't be resolved (sorry for my english..!!). Running
Oracle on NT4 server and trying to get access directly from the server...
(and
it works when I live the service name blank in SQLPLUS...) Any idea?
