Hi!
You can find about proper distribution Oracle files at www.ixora.com.au. Last statement of Steve Adams is that SAME (stripe amd mirror everything) is not best approach to Oracle. But few vendors such as Hitachi with 7700E (www.hds.com) have significant improved write performance of RAID-5. I have read very interesting benchmark reports on 7700E from Hitachi's Data Networks Architect & Performance Analyst Ken Wood <Ken.Wood_at_hds.com>
