ORA-01034 error

Can someone help me with this one?
Running Oracle 8.05 on Solaris 2.6.
When I connect to the database with sqlplus from an other machine, I get the following error ORA-01034 Oracle not available (I'm using system as user).
I get a reply with tnsping.
I can connect with svrmgrl and sqlplus localy (I'm using system as user)
