Hi all,
I recently upgraded one of our production databases from 7.3.4 to 8.1.6. Everything went fine until I ran 0703040.sql At some point the data dictionary objects couldn't extend due to insufficient room in the system tablespace.(Even though I had more than the 50mb or 2/3rds free that Oracle recommends).
At any rate, I added space to the system tablespace and reran 0703040.sql as it seemed like it should work. Naturally I got some errors along the way due to the fact that operations were being performed on objects that had a different structure than they would have if I was running it for the first time.
When it was done, all the data dictionary views compiled and the applications are running fine. I have not seen any odd behavior from this database. Does anyone know, for sure, if rerunning the script is OK? Are there any problems that will/may arise from this?
TIA,
