Sybrand: 8.1.5-->8.1.6 upgrade hangs. Clues?

Hi Sybrand (and any other Oracle gurus who are kind enough to read this).

Here's the problem:

I've got Oracle8i 8.1.5 running on HP-UX 11.0. I need to upgrade to 8.1.6. So I shut down all oracle processes (ie, the DBMS and Net8), and then I fired up 8.1.6's "runInstaller", and selected the checkbox beside:

    _Upgrade or Migrate Existing Database

It put up a status bar, and quickly zoomed to 95%. Cool! But then it stopped. Uncool.
It's been sitting there for over an hour now.

Above the status bar, it says:

   "Processing Oracle Protocol Support 8..."

The only oracle processes running are:

  1. /nfs/hprcl214/projects9/oracle/8.1.6/install/../stage/Compon 2)./runInstaller

where (1) was launched by (2). Neither process is accumulating any CPU time; it looks like it's blocked, waiting for "something".

Any ideas on how I can get the upgrade to complete? Or how I can debug this problem?

Thanks!
