Well here I am again - its nice to see previous posts being retrieved from deja - a form of immortality in a way because if I had been 'run over by a bus' yesterday, my previous posts would stil be available...

Anyhoo - this problem, needless to say, is just another example of 'DLL Hell'.

The time you spend solving this DLL problem is actually time that you could have invested studying more about Unix (whether Linux, Solaris, DG-UX Tru-64, HP-UX and so on). There's little long-term payback for spending time fixing an application on NT.

If you have to stick with NT (until you change jobs, of course) -- strip out NT and re-install it. Seems to work for most MS systems. If this seems unacceptable - well that's just another reason not to use NT isn't it.

Do yourself and your career a favour and don't try and use a product of Oracle's quality on N.T.

Let us not forget, Oracle was running on Unix boxen and providing RDBMS services to corporations while MS were selling MS-DOS for I.B.M. Personal Computer clones.
