core dump trying to export 8.1.6 db with version 7 exp

Hello,

I have been unsuccessfully trying to export data from an 8.1.6 database and put it into a 7.3.4 database.
I ran catexp7.sql to put the version 7 views into the version 8 database.

I then fired up the version 7 exp.

The export appears to begin, but then says something like:

"Export taken with US7ASCII character set and segmentation fault (core dump)"

Anyone have any idea what is happening here?
