Hi,

I'm running Oracle Version 7.3.4.5 with NT 4.0

I'm testing my first ever "Restore" from hot backups and I've got some questions on the basics(pardon me!!)

  1. How to create disaster situation which requires a DB restore?. e.g Should I delete all the datafiles and control file and leave the online redo logs?
  2. What other scenarios I can test the recovery process with?

I'm using the normal oracle online backup scripts as well as ARCServeIT Oracle backup agent for testing (2 diff cases)..Any comments on using ArcServe Oralce Agent for this?

Any help on this will be highly appreciated..

Thanks in advance.
Anbu.
