New Oracle man

Hello

Apologies if this is the wrong group.

I am from an Access / DB2 / SQL background, and am interested in becoming an Oracle Application Developer.

I bought the Windows 98 Oracle 8i personal edition, plus the Oracle complete reference, plus the Application Developer exam guide (book and CD).

Is it reasonable to expect to gain the Oracle Professional certification after 3-6 months full-time study? Any opinions welcome.
