In Oracle is there any function for TIMESTAMP?

Hi, i'm porting a db from MS SQL 7 to Oracle 8i on Win NT 4.0.

In MSSQL i have a column of type datetime and default value getDate() which returns current date and time.

What is the function in Oracle which returns timestamp in Oracle?
