Hi,

you must install a service for connecting to Oracle. For Oracle8 there is a tool Net8EasyConfig, which does that, on the other hand you can search a file called "tnsnames.ora". There can be more such files, you can edit one and then copy it to all other locations, the responsible file is in the Folder which is named after your Database-name. There you enter a service-name, SID and IP-address (or hostname) of the server and the next connect should work.
