Thanks for responding. :)
True, in a hot market, you can always find another position. However, I'm one to believe that you have to make things right, be it a system, or in your life. It's rare to get anything that's perfect.
And, as much work as it is, my boss is actually one of the best that I have ever worked with (the others were real bozos.).
In the meantime, can anyone else list what their duties are, either as a DBA, or as a sysadmin? The published stuff that was pointed out was great.
Ideally, I would like to keep the DBA and Unix work, and have someone else admin this app, which is full time work. I want to convince the brass that such by itself is full time work.
