Hi,

To use OEM Discovery option you need to install Oracle Intelligent Agent on the node. Oracle
Intelligent agent require snmp deamon, which is normally running but you have to do some
changes in its configuration. So you have to kill the running snmp agent and re-run it in
accordance with the instructions given in the Oracle doco - refer to Snmp managemnent and
Oracle Intelegent Agent. With Oracle version 8.1.6 you don't need to configure Oracle Inteligent Agent specifically except you want to integrate it with SNMP agent on Unix. Use http://technet.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle8i/doc_index.htm for more information on the matter.

Good Luck!

Alex
