No - ODBC sits on top of Net 8 (SQL*Net)

So does RDO / ADO / OO4O etc.

If one type of middleware is 'faster' than another then its generally because it allows the client screens to use the server more efficiently.

This is obviously dependant on how well the client screens have been built (to sit in front of the middleware).

There may be small differences in middleware speed but not much.

People may blame the middleware when actually its the application developers who are making poor use of it.
