Hi guys,

We all know that Oracle soon wont support INTERNAL id. But I dont get all the SYSDBA functionality (startup/shudwon) from any id besides INTERNAL. I created a password file, I specified REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE = Exclusive, I granted SYSDBA with admin option to SYS, SYSTEM, and my id. But still no go. I cant shut down or bring up database with anything else besides INTERNAL. I am using Oracle 8.1.5 on UNIX.

Any ideas? Thanks for any help

Vinnie
