If you use Couchman's book and have access to an Oracle database, be sure to try the things he talks about. There are a lot of typos and other errors - but finding them will also help you to learn more about Oracle.

For backup and recovery the Oracle Press book is the best source. It hasn't been updated to cover RMAN but RMAN is basically a way of automating the backup and recovery topics the book does cover. Most RMAN questions involve syntax. You still need to know what Oracle needs when you try to backup and recover.

The test questions from Oracle are in the same format and sometimes even identical to the actual questions on the test.
