Help: Info about Intermedia Text

Hi!

I need to do a database with some text search:
- 10.000 records with 1000 to 30000 char (clob)

• 120.000 records with 300 to 1600 char (varchar)

Since I don't know anything about intermedia (just discover it today) I don't what shell I do with this.
Can I live without the Intermedia module? Or will I realy need it? What is its price?
