I can safely presume that at one time you ARE connected to the instance? You state that you are running a procedure when this error occurrs. Could you provide more information -- which procedure are you running, at what point does this procedure fail with the ORA-03114 error, is this the only procedure that behaves in this manner?

For some reason unbeknownst to me you are being disconnected from the instance. Having the above information may assist in deducing the nature of the problem.
