Did you re-configure your client workstation's SQLNET.ORA file to point to the Names server? In order for clients to use Names, you need two entries in the SQLNET.ORA file. You'll need to make sure that NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH contains 'ONAMES' and NAMES.PREFERRED_SERVERS points to the Names server(s).
