Yeah, but in this case it should be enough! I'm inclined to some problem with thenetwork itself or the old ODBC performance problems that crop up from time to time.

I'd start by isolating the problem;

While the thing is slow, is the CPU or I/O being hit hard on the server? If it is, then you have an ORACLE and/or Novell problem. If I/O, look at disk distribution. If CPU, then might be a problem with your SQL: works fine in Access but doesn't work well with ORACLE. Tune the SQL itself, not the database.

If it isn't, then it's good old MS odbc driver up to its anti-ORACLE tricks again. Contact ORACLE and see if you can get a version of ODBC that works better.
