Ensign ;-) Blair was talking about Oracle in that paragraph, not DB2 ...

W.r.t. the cost of HA for DB2 , it should be fairly easily possible to compare the benchmarks by adding teh costs for additional machines... That's why there are full disclosure reports. The numbers are on the table. The biggest chunk of money went into the harddrives. Those don't need to be duplicated. If a competitive benchmark doesn't have mirroring that would need to be added to keep it fair.
