This question keeps getting asked again and again. use www.deja.com to see previous threads.

For me the compelling arguments for Oracle is that it on just about any O/S (MS-SQL only works on Windows) and scales extremely well (SQL is getting there, but then underlying hardware can still have problems).

Also where's your current skill set. If you already use one of the technologies in house then retraining can be a major cost in time, money and issues related to inexperience in the 'new' technology.
