Hi,

From some Oracle books, I know that once redo size is less than 'log_small_entry_max_size', oracle uses 'redo allocation latch'; if the redo size is more than the value of 'log_small_entry_max_size' parameter, it will use 'redo copy latch'.

But for Oracle 8i, I cannot find such 'log_small_entry_max_size' from v$parameter.(use like 'log%' ) Any idea about Oracle 8i handle the 'redo allocation latch' and 'redo copy latch', and how to assign values to these two latches?

Thanks a lot!!
