blob

Can anyone please tell me if I can write a java object to BLOB and store\retrieve it ? Does 8i supports its .. I know I can write Strings, long etc .. but what about a java object .. !! If yes, why does it throw Internal error : IOException when i try to flush and close the output stream ?
