Hi:
I am using Oracle 8.1.6 on NT 4.0. I have several tables, and have set things up to audit them as "audit select, insert, delete, update" for each of these tables BY ACCESS. This seems to work fine. What does not appear as I would have thought is that if I have made a view that pulls some columns from each of the three tables, I get three audit records, for the SAME TABLE. I would think even if I were not auditing the view, the underlying tables would each generate an audit record. There are three, but as I said, the three are always for ONE of the three tables.
Do I need to set something up a little differently? Also, in the Oracle docs I see examples of "audit select" and "audit select table" and am not sure of the difference. Is "select table" on the table object, and "select" just on the named users?
Thanks,
