Yeah

Seen this:

Providing you have all the Java and Oracle path set appropriately

on the cd go to install/linux and run the runins.sh script not the runInstaller.

I would not apply either of the patches 8.1.5.0.1/2 as they seem to screw up the system despite installing everything as many have suggested, if you install 81501 svrmgrl will run but there is no sqlplus and if you install 81502 nothing works ever again.

I hope this helps and if anyone has a cast iron way of getting round the patch issue I would love to hear it.
