Sorry, I forgot to mention this, and I realize it makes a big difference. I am using Windows NT 4.
How could I copy the whole database over? This seems like it would be the easiest option. I tried it, but then the TNS service would not start and I could not connect to the database.
This is what I did on the new machine:
1. Install Oracle Server v7.3.4.0.0 with Standard starter database. 2. Stop services 3. Copy directory e:\orant\*.* to new computer(same location)overwriting all files.
Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
