PINS Vs. GETS

Can someone explain to me why, when viewing V$LIBRARYCACHE the pins would
behigher than gets.  My understanding was that gets are for each lookup and
pins represent each execution.  Wouldn't each execution have to be preceeded
by a lookup?  If that were the case I expected gets to be high than pins.
But in my snapshot, pins are twice gets.
