Export problem

We use NT4.0 and Oracle 8.0.4.


A data export with exp80 takes 2 minutes, even if the source
table is empty. During the export NT apparently nearly
completely stops responding to any user input.
The problem seems to be related with the number of columns in
the table (the table contains about 230 columns).
What can be done?
