I don't know if this'll help at all since it's really nothing to do with your problem but ask yourself if you plan to administer serveral servers and databases and if you wanna do it from your desktop. After trying to get OEM v2 going and saw the resources required I gave up. All I really wanted was an easy gui interface for my databases to create users on the fly and add datafies etc... day to day stuff. I went back an ffound an older version on 8.0.5 cd, think it was v1.6 and I installed it on my Windows'98 PC at my desk and I created a very tiny database on a server to act as my OEM database. Now I can do everything from my desktop and there isn't several tiers and it doesn' require umpteen megs of memory. This connects to any database from 7.3.4 and up I believe and yes, 8.1.5i too.

I honestly think they're shooting themselves in the foot with these latest versions. I've even given up on the 8.1.5i client, what a nightmare unless you have a pretty big PC and alas, with a huge company and 15,000 clients it just ain't happening. The cd states at least 32M ram, uh-huh, good luck ...
