First install the Oracle client software on your workstation.  Then
configure SQL*NET with an entry pointing to the Oracle database.  Open the
ODBC control panel and add a DSN and put the SQL*NET entry name in the
Service Name field.  You should then be able to open the ODBC DSN from
within VB.
