JDBC OCI

I have oracle 8.0.4.4 on Solaris, and
a java program written in VJ++ (6.0) using this database. So far I used oracle jdbc thin driver which works fine. I know want to use jdbc oci driver, but I have problems using it with VJ++, because of the differences in JDK. I know oracle have new version of jdbc oci8 coming with 8.1.5/6 that bypass this problem (Working through JNI), but I didn't succeed using this driver with my 8.0.4.

Is there any way to make oracle jdbc oci driver work with VJ++ ?
