Date format

Hi all,

I want to use the date format like this "DD-MM-YYYY HH24:MI:SS" but I need use the sql
"alter session set nls_date_format='DD-MM-YYYY HH24:MI:SS" to setup the environment every time I login.

I have try to add the following format in init.ora file but it did not work. The string I add is NLS_DATE_FORMAT="DD-MM-YYYY HH24:MI:SS" Is there elsewhere I need to change? Please give me some hints.
