Problem: Oracle 8.1 on NT no listener

I am running Oracle 8.1 on NT 4 sp 5.

I have setup one database.

On the server I have set up a tnsnames entry using TCP/IP, host name = machine_name, port = 1521, sid = ORA8. I can test the connection just fine on the server.

From any other machine when I use the same tns information I get a 12224 no listener error message.

Both the OracleOraHome81TNSListener and
OracleServiceORA8 services are started at startup and are currently running.

Anyone ever see this before?

Thanks,
Rich
